Welcome to Magaluf and Palma Nova - the web site dedicated exclusively to the popular holiday resorts in the south west of Mallorca.

Situated just 15km, or 10 short miles, from Mallorcas' impressive international airport, Magaluf and Palma Nova are two bustling holiday resorts that are located at the western end of the magnificent Bay of Palma, in the municipal district of Calvia.

One question that we are always asked by visitors, so we may as well try and answer here, is where does Palma Nova actually end and Magaluf start?

Well, although technically the dividing point between the two resorts is somewhere on the rocky headland between the two beaches, both resorts have over the years, grown to the point where they now effectively merge into one, and I seriously doubt if anyone, other than some bureaucrat in the Calvia municipal council, actually now knows.

Contrary to popular belief, holidays here aren't just for the young and lively, who wish to party all night and sleep all day, as both Magaluf and Palma Nova offer visitors a wide variety of activities for holidaymakers of all ages to enjoy.

The exception to this rule is however, the area of central Magaluf known as the "Punta Balena" or the "The Strip", and it is here where you will find a large number of late night music bars and clubs, that are predominantly occupied throughout the main Summer months by the young 18 - 30 crowd.

Both Palma Nova and Magaluf have magnificent golden sandy beaches, each boasting the prestigious Blue Flag award for water quality, cleanliness and facilities, including sunbeds and parasols for hire on a daily basis.

Toilets for public use are available at many of the beach bars, and it is not necessary to be a customer of these bars to use their toilet facilities.

Both resort beaches are backed by a wide traffic free promenade, which are perfect for walking, cycling, browsing the gift shops, or alternatively taking refreshments in one of the many cafes, bars or restaurants on the way.

Short boat trips along the south west coast are also available from several of the jetties situated along the beach, and kiosks selling the tickets are easily located along the promenade.

Away from the beach, this part of Mallorca is also home to many of the major tourist attractions on the island, including the magnificent Western Waterpark with its selection of death defying slides, the enormous, upside-down Tibetan-style mansion at the House of Katmandu Theme Park, the challenging 54 hole mini golf course at Golf Fantasia and not forgetting the performing dolphins, sealions, and parrot shows at nearby Marineland.

Compared to the UK, Winters on Mallorca are normally very mild, and as a result from the end of October to around Easter the following year, Magaluf and Palma Nova do go through somewhat of a personality change.

Each year as the families and the 18 - 30's begin to leave the island, the tour operators and hoteliers then market the resorts very strongly towards middle aged couples and others who are able to take advantage of long Winter breaks in the Majorcan sunshine.

Whilst many bars and restaurants do choose to close down for the Winter, there are however many others that don't, and instead recognise the value of the "silver pound" in their till. However, of the two resorts Palma Nova is undoubtedly the busier during the Winter months.

If there is anything you want to know about either of the resorts, then please do not hesitate to contact us. But, before doing that please check out our "Frequently Asked Questions" page - the answer to you query may already be there.

Once you have made your choice and decided that either Magaluf or Palma Nova is for you, then you can book your accommodation online from this site by comparing hotels, availability and prices on our hotels pages.

You can either do it yourself, and book flights and hotels independently, or book a traditional package holiday with any of the major UK tour operators such as Jet2 Holidays, First Choice or Thomsons.

Flights to Mallorca are available during the Summer months from most, if not all, of the major UK airports, with an average flight time around 2.1/2 hours, and on arrival local time is then one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Transfers for the short journey into Palma Nova and Magaluf by taxi, should normally take around 20 to 30 minutes, however, experience has shown us that this journey time does often vary, depending upon the time of day and the sheer volume of traffic on the Palma motorways.

We hope that you enjoy what we have to offer on our web site, and more importantly, we also hope that you enjoy your next holiday with us in either Magaluf or Palma Nova.
